The government has prepared an initial list of individuals who are due to participate in talks with the Taliban group in Qatar.

The list was released by presidential spokesperson Shah Hussain Murtazawi earlier this afternoon.

Murtazawi further added that the individuals have been introduced by political parties, intendent political figures, and other institutions and departments.

According to Murtazawi, the names of the representatives of political parties, political figures, Jihadi leaders, families of victims, high peace council, Ulemas, parliament, civil society, women, youths, journalists, governmental officials, and tribal elders have been included in the list.

The list also contains the names of at least 52 women while only Mohammad Haneef Atmar’s name can be seen in the list from 18 presidential candidates.

The names of former President Hamid Karzai and leader of Hezb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar are also not included in the list.
