Bus25 people sustained injuries after a passenger bus they were traveling in veered off the road on Kabul-Herat highway in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Officials say the passenger bus, locally known as “303”, was traveling from Herat province to provincial capital Kabul when it turned turtle in Mir Dawoud area of Guzerah District around 03:00 AM this morning.

Ihsanullah Hayat, spokesman for the governor of Herat province says that women and children are among those wounded and the health condition of at least two of them is critical.

The passenger bus belongs to a bus service company namely Ahmad Shah Abdali.

The reason behind the accident is not yet specified but unprofessional driving, bad roads and the unavailability of adequate traffic signs are believed to be the main causes of most of the traffic accident in Afghanistan.
