Armed men attacked a jail in central Nigeria and freed more than 200 prisoners but 10 of them were recaptured by Sunday night. Deputy Superintendent Ibrahim Gambari said
The recent mass jailbreak which took place on Saturday was the third of its kind in Nigeria since November.
Earlier this month gunmen bombed a prison in Ekiti state and freed more than 300 inmates and 144 escaped from captivity in Kogi state on November 3 when gunmen blown up a wall of the prison.
No group has claimed the responsibility for Saturday’s attack but hundreds of Boko Haram fighters were being held in the jail.
