
At least six Taliban militants were killed and 14 others were wounded after the Afghan armed forces repulsed their second attack in Dawlatabad district of Faryab province.
The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in a statement said the Taliban militants launched their second attack on Dawlatabad district at around 5:00pm local time on Monday.
The statement further added that the attack sparked heavy clashes which continued until 10:00pm, leaving at least 6 militants dead and 14 others wounded.
A senior commander of the military commission of the group identified as Mawlavi Ehsanullah alias Toofan was among those wounded, the 209th Shaheen Corps added.
Members of the public uprising forces had also taken part to fight the Taliban militants, the 209th Shaheen Corps said, adding that the security forces and local residents did not suffer casualties during the clashes.
