2 Indian Soldiers Killed, 4 Injured in Kashmir Army Operation

Two Indian soldiers were killed and four injured in an encounter between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. 

According to the local media report, the Indian army launched the operation after getting relevant information about the terroristterrorist’s hideouts in the Kandi Forest in the Rajouri region, the Indian army said in a statement.

“The terrorists triggered an explosive device in retaliation,” The operation remained ongoing, it added in the statement. 

“The army team has suffered two fatal casualties with injuries to four more soldiers, including an officer.”

 “Additional teams from the vicinity have been directed to the site of the encounter. The injured personnel have been evacuated to Command Hospital in Udhampur,” it said.

The operations came after an unidentified shooter opened fire at an Indian army vehicle last month, killing at least five soldiers in the Rajouri district of Kashmir.

On May 4, an Indian Army Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv crashed close to the Kishtwar region of Jammu & Kashmir. Pilots have sustained injuries but are safe, Indian Army said, ANI quoted.
