2 foreigners shot dead inside the Afghan interior ministry

Afghan Interior Ministry officials on Saturday announced, at least 2 foreigners were shot dead inside the Afghan Interior Ministry compound.

The incident was also confirmed by the International Security Assistance Force officials. However neither the Afghan officials nor the NATO forces disclose further information regarding the incident.

According to a press release issued by the Afghan Interior Ministry, the two deceased foreigners were the international advisors for the Afghan Interior Ministry.

NATO also following a statement said the main motive behind the incident was unclear.

An Afghan official speaking on the condition of anonymity said, the two foreigners were shot dead at the Interior Ministry complex section which is under the total control of US troops, and the US advisors are also based there.

He also said, Afghan security forces are not allowed to enter the complex.

In the meantime a spokesman for the Taliban group Zabiullah Mujahid following a statement claimed the attack was carried out a Taliban fighter.

Taliban militants also claimed they have killed at least 4 US advisors.

This comes as the demonstrations against the burning of Holy Quran entered to its fifth day. The protesters gathered in various cities of Afghanistan and in some cases clashes between the angry protesters and Afghan security forces have also been reported.

At least 7 people were reported killed during the demonstrations across the country on Saturday.
