At least two civilians were killed and seven others were injured following a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.
Provincial governor spokesman, Javid Faisal confirming the report said, the incident took place late Saturday night in Maiwand district.
Mr. Faisal further added that a vehicle carrying civilians struck with the roadside bomb while crossing Maiwand district, leaving two dead and seven others injured.
He said the wounded civilians have been taken to provincial hospital for treatment purposes.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Taliban militants and other insurgent groups frequently use improvised explosive device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and coalition security forces, which normally lead to civilian casualties.
