2 Afghan police forces shot dead in uruzgan province

According to local authorities in southern Afghanistan, at least 2 Afghan National Police forces were shot dead by an individual in southern Uruzgan province.

The officials further added, the incident took place at Khas Uruzgan district on Sunday evening.

Director of the counter-criminal department in Uruzgan provincial security commandment Gen. Gulab Khan confirmed the incident and said, the assailant was detained by Afghan
security forces and is under the investigation.

Gen. Gulab Khan further added, the assailant is an Afghan civilian however Afghan security forces are investigating his connection with the Taliban militants.

In the meantime a local security official said, the incident took place after two Afghan police forces were struggling to enter a house and commit illegitimate activities and were shot dead by the house owner.

Provincial government officials yet to comment regarding the incident.
