At least 19 Taliban militants were killed in separate airstrikes which were conducted by coalition forces in South-eastern parts of the country.

The 203rd Thunder Corps in a statement said at least 5 Taliban militants were killed in an airstrike conducted in Syedabad district of Maidan Wardak province.

The statement further added that the coalition forces carried out a similar airstrike in Qarabagh district of Ghazni province leaving 3 militants dead.

Similar airstrike was also carried out in Zurmat district of Paktia province leaving 11 militants dead, the 203rd Thunder Corps added.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.

Both the Afghan and coalition forces have stepped counter-terrorism operations in the restive parts of the country to suppress the anti-government armed militants and force them to participate in peace talks.
