At least 19 militants were killed and at least 8 others were wounded during the airstrikes conducted in western Farah province of Afghanistan.

The 207th Zafar Corps of the Afghan Military in the West said the airstrike were carried out on Thursday in the vicinity of Parchaman district.

The source further added that the airstrikes targeted two compounds of the militants in Rabat Payin and Koh Surkhak areas, leaving at least 19 dead and 8 others wounded.

According to Zafar Corps, the two compounds of the militants were destroyed during the airstrikes along with three vehicles.

The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban militants have not commented regarding the report so far.

Farah is among the relatively calm provinces in West of Afghanistan where fewer security related incidents have taken place since the fall of the Taliban regime.

However, the anti-government armed militants have been attempting to expand their foothold and destabilize the province during the recent months and years.
