Unknown gunmen attacked a mosque in Parwan provice of Afghanistan killing at least 7 people, the local security officials said.

A source in Parwan Police Headquarters confirmed that the gunmen attacked the mosque in Charikar city earlier tonight, killing 7 and wounding at least 12 others.

The source further added that the gunmen stormed the mosque in a village located in the outskirts of Charikar city.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, the security sources say the area where the attack has place is under the control of Taliban militants but the group has rejected its involvement in the attack.
