At least 15 Taliban militants were killed during joint military operations across the country, the interior ministry announced Sunday.
According to a statement released by the interior ministry media office, the militants were killed during the past 24 hours in Kunduz, Wardak, Logare, Ghazni, Helmand and Nimroz provinces of Afghanistan.
The statement furhter added that the operations were conducted jointly by Afghan national police, Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces.
At least one militant was also injured and four others were detained during the operations, the interior ministry said.
The statement also added that Afghan security forces seized some weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operations.
In separate operations, Afghan national security forces discovered and seized three improvised explosive device (IED) from Nangarhar and Nimroz provinces.
Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the reports.
