The Afghan Special Forces conducted an operation in central Wardak province of Afghanistan killing at least 4 Taliban fighters, the security officials said Sunday.
“An Afghan special forces operation in Jalrayz district resulted in 3 Taliban fighters killed and 9 detained,” the officials said.
The security officials further added that “Afghan forces killed 12 Taliban fighters during at attack on a checkpoint in Muhammad Agahah district of Logar province.”
The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the operation and clash in Logar and Wardak provinces so far.
Both Logar and Wardak are among the relatively volatile provinces in South of Afghanistan.
Taliban militants are active in some of the restive districts of the two provinces where they often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institutions.
