The National Procurement Commission (NPC) approved fifteen new contracts during the latest meeting of the commission chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said 22 contracts were reviewed during the meeting and 15 of them were approved with a total value of more than 3 billion Afghanis.

Some of the key contracts approved during the meeting include asphalt work of roads from Borag area to Surkhab in Mohammad Agha district of Logar, asphalt work of 9.5 kilometers of road from Kabul-Gardez highway to Zarghoon city, and asphalt work of 7.8 kilometers of road from Bagh Sultan area to Puli Kandahari.

The statement further added that the contracts were recommended by the Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan which also includes construction of water drainage along the mentioned roads.

The meeting also approved the recommendation for the extension and increase in contract value for the internet services project.
