Afghan operationsAt least 15 anti-government armed militants were killed and 24 others were wounded in the latest counter-terrorism operations, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said.

Acccording to an operational update by MoD, the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan army, Afghan police and other security institutions who were supported by the Afghan Air Force.

At least 7 of the militants were killed in air and ground operations in Nawa and Khanshin districts of Helmand province, MoD said, adding that 11 others were wounded.

MoD further added that 2 militants were killed and 4 others were wounded in a seprate operation in Shahid Hasas district of Uruzgan province, while 4 militants were killed and 6 others were wounded during an operation in Dasht-e-Archi district of Kunduz province.

A weapons cache of the militants was discovered and seized during ongoing operations in Dand-e-Ghori and Dand-e-Shahabuddin districts of Baghlan province and a suspected militant was arrested, MoD added.

At least 2 militants were killed, 2 militants were wounded and 3 others were wounded in seprate operations in Maiwand district of Kandahar, Nejrab district of Kapisa, and Shindand district of Herat province, according to MoD operational update.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
