NDSThe personnel of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency – has seized 15, 000 kilograms of explosive materials and arrested twelve insurgents in eastern Nangarhar province.

According to a statement issued by the NDS Wednesday morning, the explosive materials were placed in the bags of cement – distinguished to be cement – which were seized in Jalalabad city, provincial capital of Nangarhar.

As per the statement, the explosive materials were placed 300 cement bags with each bag the weight of 50 kilograms.

The statement adds that the explosive materials were seized from a vehicle bearing the number plate of Herat province (H.R.T 15441).

The statement further adds that the materials seized are the type of the explosives being used in suicide vests, car bombs and landmines.

Toryalai, the driver of the vehicle was also arrested according to the statement.

In a separate action of the personnel of the NDS, 11 insurgents who are related with Taliban were arrested in the same province.

NDS statement states that the insurgents were busy in destructive activities in Nangarhar who were arrested with magnetic bombs, weapons and ammunitions.

Statements issued by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) usually do not contain information about the date of the activity but their statements usually come after recent achievement.
