Kabul attackAt least 14 foreigners belonging to Nepal were killed in a suicide attack in capital Kabul earlier today, security officials said.

The officials further added that the incident took place in the 9th police district of the city, leaving at least 5 others injured, including four Afghans.

Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, earlier said at least 14 people were killed and 8 others were wounded in the attack.

The incident took place around 6:00 am after a suicide bomber targeted a mini bus in Benayi area as it was carrying the Nepalese nationals who were apparently security guards.

The Taliban group spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility behind the incident and said more than 20 foreigners were killed or wounded in the attack.

The Taliban group has intensified attacks across the country including capital Kabul after the group announced its spring offensive earlier in April and vowed to carry out more attacks as the group’s insurgency enters to its 15th year since they were toppled in a US-led invasion.
