The security forces conducted separate operations in Uruzgan and Helmand provinces killing at least 13 Taliban militants.

The informed military sources said Wednesday the Afghan Special Forces killed 8 Taliban fighters in Tarin Kot district of Uruzgan.

The sources further added that the Special Forces also destroyed a large quantity of explosives and improvised explosive devices.

Furthermore, the security forces conducted an airstrike in Marjah district of Helmand and killed 5 Taliban fighters.

The anti-government armed militants have not commented regarding the operations so far.

Both Uruzgan and Helmand are among the volatile provinces in South of Afghanistan.
