ISIS militants killed in AfghanistanAt least 23 loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in an airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

Security officials said Sunday that the militants were killed in an airstrike conducted in Achin district which is home to scores of ISIS loyalists.

The officials further added another ISIS militant was wounded during the airstrike but it is yet not clear if the raid was conducted by the Afghan Air Force or the US forces in Afghanistan.

This comes as at least 21 ISIS militants were killed in a similar raid in Achin district last week, while at least 15 more were killed during a separate operation conducted in Achin earlier.

The Afghan forces as well as the US forces are regularly targeting the loyalists of the terror group in this province in a bid to curb their activities.

The Afghan government earlier a strategy to fight the loyalists of the terror group in Afghanistan.

The increased raids against ISIS loyalists followed amid concerns that they are attempting to expand foothold in the country besides attempting to consolidate operations with the terror group in Iraq and Syria.
