At least 12 anti-government armed militants were killed following military operations conducted by Afghan National Army (ANA) forces in Ghazni and Khost provinces.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said at least 7 of the militants were killed during the operation in Sabari district.
MoD following a statement said at least 8 militants were also injured and various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives were seized during the operation.
The statement furhter added at least 5 militants were killed during an operation in Gilan district of Ghazni province.
MoD said at least 8 militants were also injured and explosives and weapons were confiscated.
A Taliban commander identified as Saifullah Kochi was also killed during the operation, the statement by MoD added.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
