
At least 11 Taliban militants were killed, 2 suicide bombing vests and a house-borne Improvised Explosive Device were destroyed during the operations of Afghan Special Forces and airstrike in northern Kunduz province.
According to informed military sources, the Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in Charah Darah district killing 11 Taliban fighters and wounding 2 others.
The sources further added that 2 suicide vests, 15 pressure plate IEDs, 100 pounds of homemade explosives and a small weapons cache were destroyed.
Additionally, a house-borne IED was destroyed by an air strike, the sources added.
The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban have not commented regarding the operation so far.
Kunduz is among the relatively volatile provinces in North of Afghanistan. Taliban militants are active in some of its remote districts and often attempt to attack government and security institutions.
