At least 10 Taliban militants were killed following counter-terrorism operations conducted by Afghan national security forces (ANSF) in the past 24 hours.
The interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement said the operations were conducted by Afghan national police (ANP) forces in cooperation with the Afghan national army (ANA) forces and Afghan intelligence – national directorate of security (NDS) operatives.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted in Kunduz, Zabul, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Ghazni and Herat provinces of Afghanistan.
At least two Taliban militants were also injured and three others were detained during the operations, interior ministry said, adding that Afghan security forces also confiscated various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operations.
Afghan national police forces also discovered and seized two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during operations in Farah and Herat provinces.
Interior ministry said the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were planted by Taliban militants to carry out terrorist attacks.
