Afghan House of Representatives, approved 10 nominated candidates for various ministries, amid intensified battle across the country on Saturday

During the session,246 out of 248 parliament members were available, each nominee required 124 votes to secure their seats as ministers.

Lawmakers approved Mohammad Hanif atman as minister of foreign affairs by 197 votes.

Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal was approved as minister of finance by winning 205 votes of confidence.

Assadullah Khalid secured his seat by gaining 206 votes in favor, and Masoud Andarabi was approved as Minister of Interior Affairs by 214 votes in favor.

Fazl Ahmad Manawi had 10 invalid votes and 7 unmarked votes, he secured his positions as Minister of Justice by 220 votes of confidence.

Masuma Khawari, the sole female nominee, was approved by 154 votes in favor as Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, she received 67 votes against and 25 unmarked votes.

 Parliament members favored Abbas Basir with 197 votes in favor to remain as Minister of Higher education, as Basir Tahyanj secured his seat as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs by 190 votes in favor.

Mohammad Qasim Halimi was approved as Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs with 148 votes of confidence and 41 votes against.

Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, gained 213 votes in favor and securing him, the ministry’s affairs.

In the coming weeks, it is expected that 13 more ministers and directors of two independent agencies, the National Directorate of Security and Central bank, will discuss their plans and activity frameworks with the parliament.
