The security forces conducted airstrikes in Zabul province killing at leasy 10 Taliban militants.

The 205th Atal Corps in a statement said the security forces conducted the airstrikes in Zubaida Village of Qalat district of Zabul.

The statement further added that the airstrikes killed 10 Taliban militants and destroyed a BM-1 rocket launcher.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.

Zabul is among the relatively volatile provinces located in South of Afghanistan.

Taliban militants are active in some districts of Zabul and often conduct terrorist related activities.

Meanwhile, the Afghan forces routinely conduct counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government armed groups in this province.

The U.S. forces also conduct regular airstrikes in restive parts of the country to suppress Taliban and other anti-government militants.
