According to local authorities in eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan, at least ten Afghan local police officers were killed or injured during clashes with the Taliban militants in Moqor district on Sunday.
District governor for Moqor, Sahib Khan Elham confirming the report said the incident took place around 10am local time after a number of Taliban militants attacked Afghan local police forces check points.
Mr. Elham further added at least six Afghan local police officers were killed and four others were injured during the clashes.
He said Taliban militants also suffered casualties, however, he said there are no reports regarding the exact number of Taliban militants killed or injured.
Ghazni is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where Taliban militants are openly operating in its various districts.
The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the group announced its summer offensive against the Afghan and coalition security forces in the month of April.
