Local authorities in Laghman province reported that a house roof collapse killed one person and injured five others.
Khair Mohammad Ghazi, the head of the natural disaster response in Laghman province, said on Saturday that the incident occurred in the Bidpah district of the province after the roof and a house collapsed, killing one person and injuring five others.
According to reports, all those affected by this tragic incident belong to one family, highlighting the devastating toll on this tightly-knit group.
However, authorities in the province have said that the injured individuals have been swiftly transported to the closest medical facility for further medical treatment.
Additionally, local authorities are working closely with the affected family to provide necessary support and assistance during this difficult time, offering counselling and any required resources to help them cope with their emotional and practical challenges.
This comes as the collapse of residential house roofs has previously claimed many people’s lives, especially children, in most provinces.
The use of substandard materials in constructing residential houses, the lack of amenities, and poverty are the primary causes of roof collapses in remote villages.
