Zahir Qadir elected as first deputy house speaker

Zahir Qadir Chief of the coalition to support law was elected as the deputy speaker of the Afghan House of Representatives.
Mr. Qadir received 140 votes during the House elections and bet his rivals who were nominated for the first deputy position.
Nadir Khan Katawazi was also among one of the candidates for the position of the first deputy house speaker who received 40 votes.
There were around 8 invalid votes and 16 blank votes given for the election of the first deputy house speaker.
Kamal Nasir a member of the house reformers group the main opponent of the coalition for law support speaking on behalf of a number of the other group members announced to leave the reformers group following the announcement of Zahir Qadir as the winner for the position of the first deputy for house speaker.
The second round of elections to choose the second house speaker deputy is going to be held between Ahmad Behzad and Dr. Jafar Mahdawi.
During the first round of elections Ahmad Behzad received 72 votes while Haji Abdul received 52 votes and Dr. Jafar Mahdawi received 55 votes.
