Afghan intelligence discover explosives cache in Ghazni

Thursday, December 22, 2011 – Officials in Afghan intelligence department, National Directorate for Security in eastern Ghazni province announced to recover at least two weapons, ammunitions and explosives cache in this province.
Provincial NDS chief for eastern Ghazni province Syed Amirshah Sadat said, the first explosives cache was discovered in Kalala village in the city of Ghazni province by Afghan intelligence forces. The explosives cache includes a number of improvised explosive device, mortar rounds and a set of communication transmission device.
Mr. Sadat further added, the cache was stored by the militants in Ghazni city to carry out insurgency attacks.
He also said, Afghan intelligence forces seized another weapons and explosives cache was discovered in a separate operation at Tarabas village in Andar district of eastern Ghazni province.
The weapons and explosives cache included AK-47 and PK-47 assault rifles and Rocket Propelled Grenade Launchers.
This comes as Afghan intelligence forces earlier arrested at least ten militants following operations at four different districts of eastern Ghazni province.
