Two suspects have been killed including a female who reportedly blew herself up with own explosives north of Paris.
Gunfire and explosions were also heard in the area and later officials said that four policemen sustained injuries.
Reports suggest that seven more suspects were arrested during the pre-dawn raid on an apartment in Saint Denis suburb of Paris.
The anti-terrorism raid which lasted almost seven hours was carried out on suspension that Paris attacks mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud might be inside the apartment but officials have not immediately revealed whether the suspect was in fact inside or not.
France has speeded up its anti-terrorism operation after the deadly attack on Friday that left 153 people killed and more than 100 wounded.
The attacks were later claimed by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) which prompted anger of France.
The country’s president has said that France would be merciless towards ISIS.
French fighter jets recently bombed a command center, training site and other positions of ISIS in Syria in retaliation to the attacks.
