Torkham reopened after nearly a week of tensions among Pak-Afghan forces

The gate was reportedly opened earlier this morning for the passengers and vehicles to commute between the two countries.
According to reports, the passengers holding valid visa can only cross the line.
Tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan erupted late on Sunday night after the Afghan forces prevented the Pakistani security forces to construct a gate along the zero line.
The two sides clashes occasionally during the past one week as both the Afghan and Pakistani suffered casualties.
Afghanistan at least three border guards during the three days of clashes while a Pakistani major was killed and several other security personnel were wounded.
The tensions between the Afghan and Pakistani forces reduced following diplomatic efforts to resolve the issue.
This comes as tensions intensified among the Afghan and Pakistani border guards along Torkham in mid-May resulting to the closure of the gate for at last four days.
Both the Afghan and Pakistani forces deployed additional troops and heavy military equipment including tanks due to the growing tensions.
