Toofan-e-Harirod win Afghan Premier League Championship

Toofan-e-Harirod soccer team on Friday defeated Simorgh-e-Alborz soccer team during the final match of Afghan football league and became the champion of the tournament.

The final match was organized in capital Kabul on Friday afternoon, and Maruf Mohammadi along with Ghulam Reza managed to hit two goals for Toofan-e-Harirod soccer team.

The match was attended by thousands of fans from the two teams and a number of high level Afghan government officials and political figures.

Besides the final match was attended by several female fans of the two teams who were supporting their favorite teams.

Simorgh-e-Alborz also managed to make one goal during the last moments of the match and a number of the Simorgh-e-Alborz soccer team members could not attend the match due to loss of their family members in a tragic road incident in northern Jowzjan province on Thursday night.

Toofan-e-Harirod soccer was awarded the championship trophy besides $15,000 cash prize.

The Afghanistan Football Federation is the controlling body for the sport in the country, and was admitted to FIFA in 1948
The Afghanistan Football Federation is a Non-Governmental non-profit Association which began serving football activities for Afghanistan in 1922. The federation continues to organize all types of football (Soccer, Futsal, Beach Soccer, Mini Soccer, Street Soccer, etc) within Afghanistan through various tournaments, leagues, championships and courses.
