Based on the tip off received, India’s intelligence agencies say that terrorists have planned to hijack an Air India flight, the third largest airline in India which has flights between Delhi-Kabul.
After receiving a high alert from the intelligence agencies, Indian officials have tightened security in the airport.
The security personnel at the airport even are even tightly checking their staff members.
The intelligence agencies say the hijack could be similar to the hijack of 1999 when gunmen hijacked an Indian Airlines airbus in route to India from Nepal.
The hijackers took the airbus to several locations but the flight was finally forced to land in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
