Taliban militants attack on Kandahar PRT office

Thursday, October 27, 2011 – US-run Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) office in Kandahar has been rocked by Taliban militants around 14:30 today.

According to reports one civilian has been killed and a policeman has been injured in this incident.

Police said a small group of militants hand attacked the PRT base in southern Kandahar.

According to reports by BBC a mini-bus and two motorcycles have been discovered, packed with explosives.

This comes as that Kandahar city has witnessed many dangerous incidents in the last 2 years such as fled of a huge number of political prisoners, assassination of many government high officials including Ahmad Wali Karzai, brother of Afghan president.
