Suicide bomber shot dead in Kandahar province

A suicide bomber was shot dead by Afghan security forces before he manage to carry out suicide blast, loca authorities said.

The incident took place in Zherai district of southern Kandahar province late Tuesday evening.

According to a statement released by Afghan Interior Ministry, a suicide bomber was shot dead by Afghan security forces on Tuesday evening around 6:00 pm local time before the bomber detonate his explosives in Zherai district.

Afghan interior ministry officials also added Afghan security forces seized 8 improvised explosive devices and some other arms and ammunitions following separate military operations during the past 24 hours.

Anti-government armed militant groups yet to comment regarding the reports.
