Shahrukh Khan backs sports as profession

He may be a Bollywood actor but he regards sports as much as acting. And proving that Shahrukh Khan has come forward to back sports as profession.
Owner of Kolkata Knight Riders Indian Premier League (IPL) team added: “I am a big speaker of sports as a commercial success. Parents should know that it can be a salary job. Your kids will be proud of you.”
A sports lover, the 47-year-old is willing to support every sport in the country.
“Indian Parents would always be wary of sports as a vocation. I don’t see why they should not be…,” said the ‘Chak De’ fame actor during a university cricket championship inauguration.
He added, “Parents will have to see that there is an opportunity for a job here.”
In the meantime the actor, who is associated with the hit sports-themed movie “Chak De! India”, a film that put the women’s hockey under spotlight, feels the condition of women sports hasn’t changed much.
His comments came during a session launched by NDTV, a revolutionary concept to revive university cricket in India – Toyota University Cricket Championship. Eight teams from four zones will play in a T20 format for the title of being the best cricket university. The aim is also to find the next champions of the sport. With Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan as the enthusiastic face of the tournament, this initiative aims to promote grass-root skills.
