Serbia’s ambassador to NATO leaps to his death

Branislav Milinkovic, Serbia’s ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, committed suicide at Brussels’ airport late yesterday, Blic newspaper reported, citing a diplomatic official it didn’t name.
Mr Milinkovic is reported to have suddenly jumped from the 10-metre-high car park level while waiting with the Serbian delegation of foreign ministry officials, ahead of talks with Nato officials.
The Serbian foreign ministry confirmed that Branislav Milinkovic, 52, had died. The diplomat who represented Serbia at NATO since 2009 and previously at the Vienna-based Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Mr Milinkovic, a former journalist, previously served as Serbia’s ambassador to Austria. Serbia is not a member of the military alliance, but has a mission in the headquarters complex.
