Senior Taliban official killed in Quetta city of Pakistan

Afghan intelligence — National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Wednesday announced that a senior Taliban official was killed in Quetta city of Pakistan.

Ghazni provincial NDS chief Syed Amirshah Sadat said Mawlavi Shahid Khel a senior Taliban commander was killed by unknown gunmen on Tuesday.

Mr. Sadat further added the dead body of Mawlavi Shahid Khel is kept in a hospital in Quetta city.

He was one of the senior Taliban leader and was a resident of Espanda-De village in eastern Ghazni city and report suggest that he was killed due to issues between Afghan and Pakistan Taliban.

Chief of Ghazni intelligence Syed Amirshah Sadat said Mawlavi Shahid Khel was recently appointed as Laghman governor by the Taliban group.

He said Mawlavi Shahid Khel was also supported by Pakistan militants.

According to reports this is the second Taliban leader who is killed in Quetta city of Pakistan during the past one month.

This comes as a senior Haqqani Network leader Mullah Kamran was killed in Quetta city. He was reportedly killed following verbal clahes with the Pakistan Taliban.
