Salman Khan remains King of Box Office with ‘Dabangg 2′

Hindi movie Dabangg 2 starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in leads, has opened to a fantastic response at the Overseas Box Office. The Arbaaz Khan directed film has collected Rs 21.98 crores nett ($ 4 million) at the international collection centres in the first weekend.
Not only his fans but Bollywood fraternity too praised his work as Chulbul Pandey in the movie.
Appreciating Salman’s work, actor Ajay Devgn tweeted, “Saw Dabangg 2…Pandeyji humne bhi kya seeti bajayee aap ke liye!”
Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines said that ‘Dabangg 2’ has opened “exceptionally well at the box office on Friday” and on Saturday “collected around Rs.17 crore and is going housefull on Sunday”.
According to him, it is a record breaking opening and that ‘Dabangg 2’ has broken the record of ‘Rowdy Rathore’ that opened with Rs.15.10 crore.
Dabangg 2 has a good opening at the USA Box office, but its business is lower than that of Ek Tha Tiger, which had grossed Rs 8.25 crores ($ 14,84,404) from 120 screens in the country in five-day weekend with its per-screen average $ 12,370. The movie has collected Rs 5.60 crores ($ 10,19,213) from 166 screens in its opening weekend and its per screen average is $ 6,140.
Pakistan is another foreign country, where Dabangg 2 has done wonderful business. The Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer has raked in Rs 1.92 crores ($ 3,50,000) at the Pakistan Box Office in its first weekend. Trade experts say that it is the biggest weekend ever for a Hindi film in the country.
Arbaaz Khan must be a very happy man, as his directorial debut has impressed the audience and has kept the Indian and overseas Box Office ringing.
