QRF commander among seven injured in Paktika explosion

Nabiullah Peerkhil, spokesman for the governor of Paktika province told Khaama Press that the incident took place on Monday in the jurisdiction of Wazi Khwa District.
He said that security forces conducted six days long military operation against Taliban in Wazi Khwa District in which they did not have casualties but when they were returning from the mission, the vehicle of Paktika’s QRF commander Azizullah Karwan struck a landmine.
Governor’s spokesman added that seven people including Azizullah Karwan sustained injuries in the explosion.
He expressed concern over the health condition of two soldiers. He said “Azizullah Karwan and four other soldiers were out of danger but two soldiers are seriously wounded who have been flown to Kabul for treatment.”
Azizullah Karwan has been wounded in similar Taliban attacks in the past where he sustained light injuries.
But an official source told Khaama Press on condition of anonymity that both legs of Azizullah Karwan were badly injured who was also flown to Kabul for better treatment.
