President Karzai visits Europe to sign strategic pacts

Afghan Presidential office following a statement on Wednesday said, Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday night left Afghanistan to visit Europe in a bid to sign long term strategic cooperation agreement with France, Italy and United Kingdom.
The officials further added, president Karzai is scheduled to meet Turkement President Gurbanguly Berdimuhameow.
Both sides are due to discuss economic and bilateral cooperation between the two countries, officials said.
President Karzai is due to meet with Italy Prime Minister Mario Monti and other high level governmental officials of Italy to sign strategic pact.
Meanwhile President Karzai will meet with French and UK officials on Friday, officials said.
This comes as Afghan Foreign Affairs officials on Sunday announced, Afghanistan is due to sign a 20 years strategic pact with France which will focus on political and security cooperation.
However Afghan Foreign Affairs Ministry did not disclose further information regarding the strategic pact with UK and Italy.
The officials also said, President Karzai would work out the framework of bilateral cooperation with international allies and that the President will soon give a clear definition of such cooperation.
