Pakistani media: 9 Pakistani militants killed in Afghanistan

DroneA number of news agencies from Pakistan are reporting that nine Pakistani militants have been killed in a fresh drone strike in eastern Afghanistan.

According to reports, militants killed during this strike belong to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) groups.

Reports state that the strike was carried out at a compound in Nazyan District of eastern Nangarhar province.

Pakistan’s media outlets quoting sources say that drone targeted a compound with two missile which completely destroyed the compound.

Reports suggest that TTP’s training instructor Zarwali and LI chief Mangal Bagh’s driver Shakir Sipah were among the insurgents killed in the strike.

The other insurgents killed in the strike are introduced as Yaseen, Zubair, Abdul Rahman Shinwar (TTP commanders) and Fazal Ameen, Shamat Khan Sipah, Wajid (Lashkar-i-Islam commanders).

Several people were also wounded during the attack, according to sources quoted by these media outlets.

Neither coalition forces nor Afghan government has released information regarding the reports.
Few days before two senior TTP commanders were killed on Pak-Afghan border.

After the launch of military operations in Pakistan, insurgents have been pushed to the borders areas with Afghanistan.
