NATO troops seize 300 kilograms Hashish in Kandahar

Thursday, December 29, 2011 – NATO-led International Security Assistance Force officials following a press release announced to discover at least 300 kilograms of Hashish in southern Afghanistan.
The source further added, the mentioned amount of Hashish was discovered following a joint military operation by Afghan and NATO-led International Coalition forces in Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province.
ISAF officials also said, Afghan security forces destroyed the Hashish seized during the operation.
In a separate operation Afghan and ISAF troops arrested a Taliban commander in Nahr-e-Saraj district of southern Helmand province, ISAF officials said.
According to ISAF officials, the detained Taliban commander was involved in planting roadside improvised explosive device.
Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the reports.
