According to a statement issued by NATO, a coalition service member was killed following a roadside improvised explosive device explosion in eastern Afghanistan.
NATO officials confirmed the incident took place on Thursday in eastern regions of the country.
The statement did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationality of the deceased soldier.
NATO officials generally do not disclose coalition security forces casualties in Afghanistan and refer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.
This comes as another coalition service member died as a result of non-battle related injury in eastern regions of Afghanistan.
At least 70 coalition security forces including 48 US soldiers, 10 British troops and 12 soldiers from the other countries have been killed in various incidents since the beginning of 2012 in Afghanistan.
