NATO helicopter crash in Kapisa province of AfghanistanA NATO-led International Securty Assistance Force (ISAF) helicopter crashed in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday.

According to a statement released by ISAF, “An International Security Assistance Force helicopter crashed in eastern Afghanistan today.”

The source further added, “ISAF is still in the process of assessing the circumstances to determine more facts. However, all crew members have been recovered with no reported fatalities and the site of the incident is secure.”

In the meantime security officials in eastern Kapisa province of Afghanistan said the helicopter made an emergency landing in Tagap district.

Local residents in Tagab district said the helicopter crashed in Gabri area and a number of foreign troops were killed or injured following the incident.

Taliban militants claimed responsibility behind the helicopter crash and said it was downed by Taliban fighters.

However provincial security chief Mohammad Nawroz denied Taliban claims and said the helicopter made emergency landing due to technical issues.
