NATO airstrike kill senior Taliban leader in Ghazni

Provincial Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) Chief Syed Amirshah Sadat confirming the report said the Taliban leader killed was recognized as Hafiz Sardar and was he was killed on Wednesday night.
Ghazni is relatively unsafe province in eastern Afghanistan where Taliban militants and other armed insurgents are openly operating in various districts.
There has been a considerable growth in target killing of Taliban leaders in this province during the recent months.
At least 3 Taliban leaders have been killed in Ghazni province during the past one week however Taliban militants group has not confirmed the death of Hafiz Sardar so far.
Ghanzi NDS chief Syed Amirshah Sadat said Hafiz Sardar was resident of eastern Ghazni province and was involved in major insurgency activities in this province.
He said Hafiz Sardar was killed following a NATO airstrike late Wednesday night and local officials believe that his death will have a positive impact over security situation.
This comes as another Taliban leader Mawlavi Shahid Khel was killed by unknown gunmen riding motorcycle in Quetta city of Pakistan.
