Indian movie ‘Heroine’ trailer angers residents of Dubai

A press conference scene from the trailer that came out last week showed actress Kareena Kapoor rebuking journalists.
“You people should be writing scripts. If a heroine buys a car, it’s given to her by a businessman, if she goes to LA, she’s getting plastic surgery done and, God forbid, if she goes to Dubai, you people make her a rate card,” Gulf News quoted her as saying in the movie.
Residents said that the suggestion that Bollywood actresses who visit Dubai end up as call girls with price tags was sickening.
The media has accused Bhandarkar of ‘ignorance’ and said that the immoral reference to the city was not required.
According to Times of India the makers have collectively decided to take preventive action and change the controversial dialogue in the copy of the film that will be screened there.
Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor’s spicy avatar in the first trailer of Heroine has grabbed over two million eyeballs since it launch on YouTube.com.
The trailer was launched July 25 on a small screen as we as internet, and the stupendous response has left director Madhur Bandarkar exteremly happy.
Bandarkar said the director of the movie in a statement said, “I am overwhelmed by the great response the promo has got. This is just the beginning.”
Kareena Kapoor plays Mahi Arora, an actress in the film which narrates the ups and downs in the of a movie star.
