Hotel catches fire in Kabul city

Hotel catch fire in Kabul cityA hotel caught fire in capital Kabul on Sunday evening. The incident took place in Ariana Hotel near the Kota-e-Sangi area.

Eye witnesses in the area are saying that a widespread fire was burning the hotel building and Afghan fire brigade is busy to control the fire.

Several bank branchs and other commercial offices including travel agencies are also located inside the hotel building.

Kabul police chief Gen. Ayoub Salangi said the fire took place in a coffee shop located in the ground floor of the wedding hall building while hundreds of people were attending a wedding ceremony on the top floors.

A eye witness who was present near the hotel said the wedding guest did not suffer any casualties as they were informed of the incident during the first few seconds of the incident and were taken out of the hotel.

Ariana Hotel is one of the biggest wedding hall in western Kabul city where major wedding ceremonies are organized. Kabul security chief Gen. Ayoub Salangi said Afghan fire brigade managed to quit the fire immediately and prevented casualties.

He said there is no exact report regarding the damages and losses incurred to the wedding hall and other offices so far and the building has not suffered too much loss as the fire was quitted shortly.
