Suicide attack in Paktika leaves 60 dead, over 80 wounded

explosion in PaktikaAt least 60 people were killed and over 80 others were injured following a suicide attack in eastern Paktika province.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in Orgun district after a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).

Defense ministry spokesman, Gen. Zahir Azimi said at least 60 people were killed following the suicide attack.

In th emeantime, an intelligence official said at least 110 people were injured following the suicide attack which took place in a busy market.

Another security official said the dead bodies of neaerly 80 people were recovered, while officials in Orgun civil hospital said dozens of injured people including women and children have been taken to the hospital.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

  1. If Taliban have not claimed the responsibility of this incident so far then what does this indicate? It clearly indicates that foreign intelligence agencies and more likely Pakistani agencies are involved in this cowardly attack especially after Afghanistan accused them of digging trenches alongside border area. Taliban do not launch attacks in market places of common people.
