Heavy explosion rock eastern Khost province

A heavy explosion rocked eastern Khost province of Afghanistan on Monday morning. The incident took place around 11 am in Chawk-e-Sargardan area in the central city of Khost province.
There are no reports regarding the casualties as a result of the incident and it is yet not clear if it was a suicide bomb blast or a roadside explosion.
In the meantime a local security official speaking on the condition of anonymity said the incident took place after explosives packed in a bicycle went off near a police Ranger vehicle.
He said at least 15 civilians were injured following the blast however public health officials in Khost province are saying that around 21 people were injured in the blast.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
