Gunmen attempt to abduct Afghan journalist Tamim Hamid in Kabul

10014575_10153905926335497_1539010574_nA group of unknown gunmen attempted to abduct an Afghan journalist – Tamim Hamid in capital Kabul late Sunday.

The incident took place late Sunday evening in Baraki area of Kabul city, Tamim Hamid said in a twitter message.

He said a group of four gunmen armed with silencer guns forced him inside a car and were looking to take him to an unknown location, however he managed to escape from the car.

This was the third incident in capital Kabul where journalists have been targeted in less than a month period.

Unknown gunmen shot dead a foreign journalist in capital Kabul, while a senior Afghan journalist was killed along with his family members in an attack on Serena hotel.

Swedish Radio’s longtime Asia correspondent Horner was shot dead by unknown gunmen in capital Kabul earlier in March.

Horner was on his way from his hotel to the ruins of a restaurant bombed by Taliban in January. He was expecting to meet a survivor of the incident before he was shot dead.

The AFP senior reporter Sardar Ahmad was killed along with his wife and two children after a group of gunmen attacked the Serena hotel on 20 March in capital Kabul.
